Success Stories

"While reviewing the Alarms Log in our TNCS installation, I noticed that our narrow cast optical transmitters were intermittently resetting. I checked the video reception which did not appear to be degraded and we were not receiving any customer complaints. However, our system will begin offering telephony services in the near future and if this resetting phenomena is not corrected, telephone calls will be dropped each time the laser resets. Firm ware in the transmitters was updated to correct the problem. We would not have been aware of the potential problem without the visibility TNCS provides."

"During a recent training class we had several client computers connected to the active TNCS installation. This is a relatively large installation with a headend and 16 hub sites. All of a sudden we began getting multiple alarms from one optical amplifier and many of the low frequency receivers in several hub sites. Within less than 20 seconds we were able to identify the failed optical amplifier. Armed with this information, two technicians were able to replace the optical amplifier in less than seven minutes. Without TNCS we would not have even known there was a problem in seven minutes."
